Picture
has been on the faculty at Hyde Park Suzuki Institute since 2005. When she joined the HPSI faculty, there were only two cello students. Today the cello program is still growing, with over 20 students, beginner through Book 4. The HPSI cellists present a cello-only concert called Cellobration every April.  Click this link for full details on Cellobration 2012--April 22, 2012!

Meg is an active member of Suzuki Association of the Americas, Chicago Cello Society, and Music Teachers of Hyde Park, as well as New Directions Cello Association. She maintains an active performing schedule in both classical and improvised styles. Meg holds a Master of Music degree in Cello Performance from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College.

Parent Review

"Meg is encouraging and uplifting. My child leaves lessons full of confidence, intrinsically motivated and determined to improve her cello skills. Additionally, Meg's creative instructional style and innovative Suzuki program implementation considers my child's developmental age and makes classical music training an utter joy. Meg's wealth of theory knowledge is enthusiastically; yet subtly shared with my child and parents to the extent that parental involvement is empowering. As a long time Hyde Park Suzuki family member, Meg is precious gem and her high level of expectations are contagious. My child is determined to do well and loves playing the cello.  - A. Greer.
