Audrey Long, administrative assistant and violin coach
Audrey is a student at the University of Chicago studying English and Creative Writing. Audrey began Suzuki violin at age 6 at the Music Center of the Northwest in Seattle, WA. After advancing through the Suzuki Method under the instruction of Christine Dunaway, Audrey began more advanced study with Kim Zabelle, a member of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. In high school, Audrey had the opportunity to travel Europe with the Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestra, visiting Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland as part of a two week concert tour. Audrey also participated in Washington State's All-State Orchestra and the Seattle Regional Solo and Ensemble Competition as concertmaster of Holy Names Academy's orchestra and a member of several chamber groups, directed by Taryn Webber. Summers were spent studying chamber music as part of Vivace! Chamber Players and the Cougar Strings Camp at Washington State University.
Throughout high school, Audrey volunteered with Seattle Music Partners, an organization dedicated to providing free music lessons to students at under-served schools in Seattle's central district. Teaching fourth and fifth grade students beginning violin and viola, Audrey gained valuable teaching experience in a challenging setting.
At the University of Chicago, Audrey participates in the University Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Barbara Schubert. Audrey also plays in chamber groups as part of the University Chamber Music Program, coached by the Spektral Quartet.

My son's love for music was deepened through the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute program! He was nurtured with loving and patient teachers who encouraged and motivated him. This is a highly recommended Institute and the director's vision for her students is simply Amazing! Also the parents are very supportive to one another as well as to each other's children...such an AWESOME village for thriving children!
