Daniel Schlosberg, piano

Picture
Chicago-based pianist Daniel Schlosberg has been on the faculty at University of Notre Dame since 2005. He enjoys a multifaceted relationship with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, having appeared as featured soloist and in numerous chamber music concerts. In the new music realm, he collaborates frequently with Eighth Blackbird and Third Coast Percussion, and gave the world premiere of Augusta Read Thomas’s “Starlight Ribbons” and the US premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s Calices for violin and piano. He has recorded for the Albany, Bridge, Centaur, New World, Nimbus and Permelia labels. His latest solo release is “Gaul Me Maybe: French Baroque Keyboard Music.” Another specialization is art song: he was on staff of Ravinia’s Steans Institute vocal program, and he is the director of the Baltimore Lieder Weekend, held each October. Recent projects include Mahler/Zemlinsky: Symphony No 6 (arr. 4-hands) at Ravinia and the National Gallery of Art, DC. He has experience teaching piano, theory and history to all ages and abilities.

My son's love for music was deepened through the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute program! He was nurtured with loving and patient teachers who encouraged and motivated him. This is a highly recommended Institute and the director's vision for her students is simply Amazing! Also the parents are very supportive to one another as well as to each other's children...such an AWESOME village for thriving children!
