Parent Reviews
"Tom has a gentle, yet firm instructional style. Although he is appears mild mannered, he has an outstanding classroom management style. He knows how to respectfully re-direct students who become distracted. He skillfully involves the students in critique of not only their own playing skills but Tom allows the students to evaluate each other. Consequently, students are attentive, accountable, and gaining knowledge about technique, listening skills, music theory & form." - A. Greer.
"Tom is able to engage the students in novel activities that allow them to make connections between skills they've learned in other contexts. The fingering exercises in particular have been valuable, and seem to have built good listening and watching skills. Students also clearly feel comfortable sharing what they have learned with the group as well." - C. Warren
"Thanks again for an absolutely fabulous Cellobration. We appreciate the time, effort and energy you put into making these events so enjoyable. Hard to imagine that just a few years ago our daughter was playing ANTS on that little red stool and yesterday (no pun intended because the Cello choir totally nailed that selection along with Pink Panther and everything else:-)) she played a piece of Claire de Lune. This concert always motivates and energizes us. Have a great day." - Kenyetta and Charles

Ms. Lucinda has some magic tricks that can keep young kids interested in violin playing, keep them focused during the lesson, and encourage them to practice at home.

My son's love for music was deepened through the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute program! He was nurtured with loving and patient teachers who encouraged and motivated him. This is a highly recommended Institute and the director's vision for her students is simply Amazing! Also the parents are very supportive to one another as well as to each other's children...such an AWESOME village for thriving children!
